HoopNation Tauranga Classic 2025

HoopNation is thrilled to present The Classic 2025 in Tauranga, New Zealand, from October 24th to 27th, during Labour Weekend!

This year marks the 15th anniversary of our premier basketball event, bringing together top-tier talent from across New Zealand, as well as current NBL players and the next generation of rising stars.

Experience the excitement and high-energy games that highlight sportsmanship and skill as teams from the 14 and under age group to elite men's and women's divisions, along with teams from Australia - including Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, compete for the championship.

The event is free for spectators, offering an incredible opportunity to witness outstanding basketball action.

Frequently asked questions

Most participants are adults; however, youth are welcome to participate. All teams have a mix of female and male players and we supply the referees. All you need to do is turn up with your team and play!

If you’re keen to take part but don’t have a team you can submit your interest with us and we’ll do our best to find one for you. Registering your interest does not guarantee you a place, but we will do our best to get you in a team playing your preferred sport on your preferred day.

Social sports leagues are a great way to keep active while having fun and socialising with others. You can join no matter what your skill level.

Leagues range anywhere from 8 – 15 weeks depending on the time of year and the elected sport. All leagues culminate in a final for all teams followed by a prize giving. The cost to register your team depends on the length of time the league runs.
